Who are we?

We are a regional organization of human rights defenders from various countries in Southeast Asia. We advocate for the promotion, protection and fulfilment for the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer people, and gender-diverse persons in Southeast Asia.

Vision: An ASEAN Community that respects the human rights of all people regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC).

Mission: ASC is a regional network dynamically engaging diverse actors to collectively advocate for the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer people, and gender-diverse persons in Southeast Asia.

Why do we need your support?

ASC believes that transforming ASEAN is anchored on strong local activism. Since 2015, ASC has collaborated with several activists and organizations from 11 countries. We supported initiatives of more than 30 local, grassroots and mostly unregistered organizations through short-term funding and sharing of technical expertise. Our training and learning sessions on human rights advocacy, campaigning and leadership have engaged more than 500 individual activists across Southeast Asia. And in the light of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, we have provided assistance to ensure resilience of LGBTIQ organizations.
