Our friends in Myanmar are organising the country’s first LGBT film festival! Here’s some information from their website!
Coming November, Yangon will see the first &PROUD lesbian, gay, bi and transgender film festival. As Myanmar has opened it’s doors to the world, so too has the LGBT community started to become more visible and vocal. The film festival adds to the budding (LGBT) cultural scene and will celebrate the breadth and diversity of Asian LGBT lives. Focusing on films from Southeast Asia and other asian countries, our aim is to showcase films from nearly all ASEAN nations including some homegrown productions from Myanmar.
The festival will take place from 14 to 16 November at the French Institute in Yangon. We’ve selected 33 long and short films and documentaries. All but two films focus on (Southeast) Asia.
The festival will include debates and discussions with filmmakers, and a special fab party on Saturday night. TS1 will host a week-long exhibition as part of the film festival.

The first edition of the &PROUD Yangon LGBT film festival will take place on 14, 15 and 16 November 2014. The opening will be on Friday evening.

&PROUD is a non-profit organisation and the entry to all films and debates are free.

All foreign films will have burmese subtitles. When films are not in English, there will also be english subtitles.
