Report Launch: Catatan Kelam 4: Kekerasan terhadap LGBTI+ di Indonesia Tahun 2024–2025 (A Bleak Chronicle 4.0: Violence Against LGBTI+ in Indonesia 2024-2025) is now available.
Published by Arus Pelangi, in collaboration with ASEAN SOGIE Caucus. Arus Pelangi is our member from Indonesia, who consistently documents the human rights violations faced by people with diverse SOGIESC. This report is the fourth series and documents the structural systemic discrimination and marginalisation of LGBTI+ people in Indonesia who continue to face violence, criminalisation, digital attacks, economic exclusion, and barriers to justice.
Throughout 2024–2025, Arus Pelangi and its network documented 94 cases involving 141 victims, with 238 forms of violence identified across those cases.
These numbers are not just statistics. Behind every case are individuals, communities, and stories of survival in the face of stigma, impunity, and structural injustice.
Through this report, we call for stronger protection, more inclusive policies, accountable law enforcement, responsible media reporting, and collective solidarity to ensure that LGBTI+ people in Indonesia can live safely with dignity.
